CITY READING SERIES

Logo design with illustration and hand lettering for City Reading Series, a poetry reading event connected with The City College of New York’s MFA Creative Writing program.

In conversation with City Reading Series founders Samantha, Alyce, and Virginia, I crafted a character inspired by City College’s medieval-style gargoyles with a wink to 1970s psychedelia. The square icon references illuminated manuscripts, and the modular lettering fits both vertical and horizontal applications. I also established brand guidelines with colors and fonts so the organizers can put together simple event posters.
